Tetbury in Bloom is entirely volunteer run and funded, so we have to raise funds to maintain existing projects and do any new work by holding fund raising events and through donations.
Tetbury in Bloom has had great success in the regional and national ‘In Bloom’ campaigns. However, whilst the extra publicity is welcome and good for the town, competitions and awards are not the real motivation for the team, who turn out throughout the year and in all weathers.
So whether in or out of competition, we will continue to maintain our high standards and keep the town looking good, as Tetbury people and visitors have come to expect.
The simple explanation is that Tetbury is OUR town and we want to take care of it - after all, it’s where we live. We are proud of our town and the people that have been so supportive of our efforts to make it better and keep it special.
We have a lot to do maintaining and replenishing the flower beds, The Anniversary Garden, the churchyard and other displays and even though our sustainable planting schemes reduce the numbers of plants we need, we do still have to buy quite a lot of stuff from our local suppliers. We need to raise about £5,000 annually to pay for all the plants and materials we use throughout the town.
We really do appreciate the wonderful support we get from the community. Without the support of Tetbury businesses, organisations and individuals, combined with our own fund raising initiatives, we would not be able to continue our work to the high standard we’ve all become accustomed to.
A special thank you must go to Paul Grimes of Wotton Farm Shop, who supplies all our baskets and plants and who, throughout June, gives us tremendous help by bringing the plants to us as we need them.
We are always very pleased to receive your support, whether in kind, as a donation, helping out when we need it or supporting any of our fundraising events. Every penny we raise is used to make Tetbury look one of the most attractive small towns in the south Cotswolds, whether we do it by way of flowers or more recently, since 2018, Christmas lights.
If you would like to make a donation, however small, please make your cheque payable to ‘Tetbury in Bloom’ and send it to -
Sue Hirst, 8 Springfields, Tetbury, GL8 8EN
or if local, you can drop your cheque or cash off at
the Visitor Information Centre, Church Street or
the Town Council Offices, 63 Long Street, Tetbury GL8 8AA
Your donation however big or small WILL make a difference
EVERY PENNY WE RECEIVE GOES TO MAKING
TETBURY A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE, WORK & VISIT
We have been both pleased and humbled at the response and support we have received through the years. That we have so much to do, to maintain and improve so many sites throughout the town, and that we can have such a widespread impact on how our town looks (and feels) is in no small part due to the generosity of everyone who has supported us.
We are very grateful to the following organisations and individuals for their generous support given to Tetbury in Bloom. Without their support we wouldn’t have been able to do much of what we have done for the town.
